Lisa-Mari Stapelberg
My name is Lisa-Mari Stapelberg, an Occupational Therapist and proud graduate of the University of the Free State, Class of 2021
One quote that deeply resonates with me and that I strive to embody each day, is:
“May I be an Occupational Therapist, Lord, with gentle healing hands, who always speaks with kindness, who cares and understands. And while I am serving others as You would have me do, please help me to remember that I am also serving you.”
For me, these words capture the heart of occupational therapy, as well as my personal mission: to serve others with compassion, kindness and dedication. I bring this same purpose to my role at Puzzles of Impact, where our mission is to empower communities by addressing the social determinants of health.
I am involved with Puzzles of Impact because it aligns with my belief in holistic, experiential learning – a journey of self-discovery and growth that happens in real-world contexts. I see learning and healing as intertwined, and by removing barriers, promoting equity and fostering genuine connection, I believe we can build stronger, more resilient communities.
Through involvement with Puzzles of Impact, I am not only fulfilling my role as an occupational therapist, but also contributing to a more just, compassionate society – one where individuals are empowered to thrive and connect. For me, this work is a way to live my purpose, serving both my community and my commitment to making a meaningful difference
Anri Holder
I am Anri Holder, a proudly South African professional with over 16 years of experience working across a range of Non-Profit Organizations. Deeply passionate about community development and social impact, I believe in the potential of our Rainbow Nation and the power of individuals to contribute meaningfully with the resources they have.
Throughout my career, I have drawn some of my greatest life lessons from those less privileged than myself, experiences that have shaped my approach to leadership, empathy, and sustainable change.
Currently, I am actively involved with Puzzles of Impact, an initiative I believe can equip individuals to live more empowered, sustainable lives. The integration of expert Occupational Therapy into our programs adds significant value and enhances the transformative impact of our work.
Haneke van Zyl
As a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), my professional journey has been grounded in financial discipline, accountability, and the pursuit of sustainable value creation. Over the years, I have come to appreciate that these principles extend far beyond the corporate world. They are equally critical in the social impact space, where sound governance and transparency are often the foundation upon which trust and impact are built.
My involvement in the non-profit sector in South Africa was born out of a deep desire to use my skills in a way that contributes meaningfully to society. South Africa faces complex socio-economic challenges, from poverty and inequality to under-resourced education and health systems. I believe that professionals like myself have a responsibility to play an active role in addressing these challenges.
By becoming involved in a non-profit organisation, I found a platform to apply my financial expertise to support causes that matter, strengthen organisational accountability, and help build more sustainable operations. It is a way to bridge the gap between professional competence and social commitment and to help ensure that the valuable work done by these organisations is supported by strong financial stewardship and governance.
We don’t perform purpose - we embody it.
Our work reflects who we are becoming. When we are aligned with our deeper why, things begin to move in ways no plan could have predicted.
We don’t need to shout our mission; we simply live it.
